About three months after Epic made its public debut in November 2011 in Hershey, Pa., for Harmony, Inc.’s International Competition & Convention (IC&C), we participated in the Mid-Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes a cappella contest in February of 2012. We had no idea at the time the amazing journey that 2012 would become, but it was a heckuva way to kick off a life-changing year.
The 2012 Mid-Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes event was a key milestone for Epic for many reasons. It was the first contest we participated in as a group, and we met some amazing people with whom we still maintain relationships. We were mentored by National Harmony Sweepstakes champs Da Capo. We got to hang out with some cool chickies in a relatively unknown quartet (ha!!!) called GQ. If you want to check out our blog from way back when, you can read it here.
We’ve changed our hair and our outfits quite a bit since then. We’ve added a few additional kiddos to the Epic family. It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since Sweeps…. and even harder to believe that we’re blessed enough to be doing it again! We are so humbled to have been asked to participate in Harmony Sweepstakes for a second time and we know from experience that we’re in for a wild ride. We cannot WAIT to meet our fellow participants and contribute to an amazing evening of aca-celebrating.
Most exciting to us is that we get to share the stage with Mayhem quartet–some good friends who make some mighty fine noise. And we’re following in some super impressive footsteps…. last year’s winners of the Mid-Atlantic Harmony Sweepstakes was Lustre Quartet!! Barbershop REPRESENT.
Have you seen the line-up yet? It’s online if you want to check it out. You really should get your tickets and plan to attend. Trust us…. it’s definitely an event for the memory books.
