In the years that we’ve been a quartet, we’ve experienced a lot of cool things and shared some memorable moments with many people–strangers and close friends alike. Before we won our crowns in 2012, we came up with the idea of starting a Harmony, Inc. chapter in Northern Virginia and we were able to organize that during our reigning year thanks to the hard work and support of many people who shared our vision.
The resulting chorus, Bella Nova, is about to embark on one of the coolest journeys a group of women can take. In about a month, Bella Nova will compete for the first time on the International stage. We have 33 Bella Novas slated to be on stage with us in Louisville for Harmony, Inc.’s International contest. Almost 82% of the chorus has never competed on a Harmony Inc. International stage, and more than 57% of the chorus has never competed in ANY international barbershop contest!
What’s even cooler is how Bella Nova’s leadership has embraced and supported the involvement of some budding young performers. These young ladies, ranging in age from 9 years old to teenagers, add so much to Bella Nova’s sound and personality. In Louisville, Bella Nova will boast two three-generation families on stage! Kids, moms, and grandmas all singing together. Pretty amazing, huh?
We’d like to take a minute to introduce you to these beautiful ladies. We’re soooooo proud of them. And so glad that they’re part of the Bella Nova family. Have fun in Louisville, girls! You’re going to do so much to add beauty and texture to the Bella Nova performance!
